EVE Online : Create a Starship Contest

The name "Hiryu" is the name of a Japanese Warship that means "flying dragon." The length of this ship is 468m long. I designed this ship to be a high speed battle cruiser, ideal for hit and run skirmishes.

I decided to go for a very clean yet elegant look in the presentation. Comments are welcome. Good luck everyone.

If you look at a rifter and at this, the only resemblance is the twin prong. Using that logic, it could be a Megethron as well...

Barely. I intentionally designed it to be dissimilar to the Rifter. If you look at the aft of a rifter, you will notice that it is a largely horizontal structure, whereas my design is more of a gull-wing design. I saw your recon ship. Thats an interesting design, never seen an EVE ship that allows the pod to be exposed to space. Isn't that a little risky for the pod?

In regards to the aft of your ship I agree you did make it different from a rifter but it may just be me but I still see a rifter in it. and In regards to my recon ship the whole point of the ship is to be extremely lightly armed and armored to minimize signature radius, also at the same time because of its stripped down design it allows it to be insanely fast and maneuverable and hard to catch, the way to best explain it is that its a pod strapped to a massive engine

Sorry to burst your bubble mate, but something like that already exists: [link] They call it zephyr. It has no powergrid for any modules do to it being only a pod with engines, and no capacitor to speak of. It has actual functional solar panel that gives it the power to drive the engines. I gotta love flying something absolutely paper thin. Sometimes i am afraid to even undock, because the ship might separate and fly apart.

And to the designer, of Hiryu, if Caldari publicly release this ship, they will be hit with a lawsuit for intellectual property from Minmatar Republic, followed by some bullet exchange... the shape is obvious, and the intention is obvious.
