Yes Yes... I know... It isn't a 3d Piece... But it has to do with a work in progress that IS 3D and IS a Futuristic Vehicle... So MEH!

Anywhoot, I've spent the last week setting up seams for a UV unwrap in blender... It was WAYYY messier 3 hours ago.... This is pretty much the final product for the UVW layout, and next I'm going to try to texture this bohemouth grid realistically.

So we'll see how it goes... does anyone have any tips on texturing a UVW map?


Edit: By the way, this is just the MAIN BODY of the ship, the solar wing and some weapons mounts have not been added to this... Just the main hunk in the middle.

Ah, UV-mapping; that best loved task for all 3D artists >_>. Texturing is the easy part, it's flattening the thing out that takes ages. I'm in the process of UV-mapping that excavator in my gallery. Grouping polygons, closing seams, what a nightmare. At least I know how to do it but the MAX UV editor is really dumb.
